LuRay Textiles, Inc: Made in America
As a family owned and operated business, Raymond Church’s LuRay Textiles located in Wilkes County, NC, began as a proprietorship in 1984 and was incorporated in 1986. Over the years, we have expanded and flourished. LuRay Textiles started out knitting Jersey and fleece for American companies to make into outerwear for chain retailers. We entered the safety apparel market in 1999. We produce fabric used in the creation of cut-resistant and burn-resistant gloves, head gear, and clothing for military, law enforcement, and firefighter use. LuRay also knits a patented protective fabric, designed by Raymond, made primarily from Kevlar.
LuRay is always investing money in and building new knitting machines from local machine shops, some that Raymond designed himself. Using Raymond’s knowledge for knitting as well as his drive and determination, LuRay continues to prosper in today’s economy under his son, Raymond “Glenn” Church’s management.
